Almost there.
They left Evansville at about 07:00, heavy headwind. As the day
progressed, the temperature kept rising, Mum said it topped 90°F at one
point, which is a far cry from the temp here in Seattle, I can tell you.
In fact, they had to stop for sunscreen, and while in the store, a
gentleman walked in and asked Chris if that was his Ural out front,
that's the third person who knew the bike by sight. Turns out, he races
Triumphs and was quite enthusiastic about the Ural.
Also met another Brit on a round the world trip, He started by flying
his Yamaha into Toronto and is now riding it around north america, then
he is going to take it to australia and south east asia. He was quite
appreciative of the comfort that the Ural provides, apparantly, his XT
yamaha lacks a bit in the seat department.
Aparantly, while he was in the Yukon, he woke to find a bear, attempting
to enter his tent, and has been a bit bear shy since then. Can't blame
him myself.
Found a snake along the way, although it was pretty far gone, Chris
isn't sure he can recover the skin, and it's not a rattlesnake (He
didn't say what kind it was) but if it survives, I get a new hatband
Whoohoo!. As long as he doesn't expect me to tan it.
Reached the bustling metropolis of Cozad, Nebraska, where they are
spending the night,

Then they will get an early start, and get to Millville Missouri before
midnight. Chris wants to get there before too late in the evening, to go
with our stepfather, Bo, to an auction the next day. Something about
blacksmithing tools. Since smithing is a hobby of Chris's, he has an
incentive to get Mum home quickly.

After that, Chris continues on to Oklahoma. He has to be there by the
20th of October, so he has plenty of time. I expect him to loaf along on
that part of the trip. He'll probably stay a couple of days in Missouri
to visit, and buy blacksmithing tools.
