Hippo bird day two ewe.
First things first,
The 4th was Cathy's birthday, Happy birthday Cathy,
Departing Portland in a somewhat leisurely manner, after a breakfast
provided by Arrow.(not racoon) They stopped at several Radioshacks, in
order to get new intercom gear, the existing stuff having proven
inadequate to the task. Thanks to Christina at the Tigard Radioshack,
they got what they needed, and continued on their way.
They headed out on highway 84, Only ran out of gas
once, I think I am going to add a gas can counter to the site, to track
Chris's lack of keeping track of fuel stops.
Passed the Multnomah falls, which Mum took pictures of, and both of the
travellers oohed and aahed at the falls.

Along about 18:00, The came across a fairly old deer carcase, victim of
some 4 wheeled impact or another, the fur was allready loose, so Chris
only took the skull. Said the knives I sharpened performed wonderfully.
(but wait! there's more!, not sold in any store!)
Sometime after running out of gas (see above) they stopped for dinner
at the Village in, said the food was good, and Tina, the bartender, very
helpful. They also met Dan and Harley, two lads out riding their
motorbikes, who appreciated the stark style of the soviet steel steed.
A long, steady ride, brought them into Walla Walla just after midnight.
Time to rest, touch up the knives, and relax for a bit.
